Pecan Sales

We sell pecans at church craft fairs and other events in order to share information about our chapter We want to ensure congregations are aware of us so that more people may become involved or reach out to us with ideas. We sell the pecans at a very low cost, as fundraising is not the goal. This enables us to get our name out quite a bit; this spring we ordered nearly $2,900 in pecans to sell.

Lifesong Adoption Fund

Our chapter maintains a fund, started by church baby bottle drives, to financially assist couples with adoption. We are aided by Lifesong for Orphans, an organization that professionally evaluates each applying couple and advises us about what amount and method of payment will be appropriate and most helpful for their specific needs. One of our board members, Delores Desemone, also offers emotional and practical support to couples adopting. She and her husband have five now-grown children through adoption. Last spring, she began connecting adoptive and fostering families to form a support group, as well as a support group for couples grieving an infant loss.

Other Activities

In the past year, our chapter members have participated in and brought others to pro-life events, including the St. Louis March on the Arch, the Life Chain, area Luncheons for Life, the Coalition Life Dinner, and Lutherans for Life national and statewide meetings. We continue to maintain a presence at church events such as LCMS circuit meetings in order to make churches aware of our work and get them involved.
