Equipping Lutherans and their neighbors to be Gospel-motivated voices For Life

Every Lutheran, both individually and in community, upholding the God-given value of human life and influencing society to do the same.

Lutherans for Life St. Charles County, Chapter 337 has been busy with many activities
presenting a Gospel-motivated voice for life in our community, our congregations, and through
our Lutheran High School Teens for Life Club.

We created and ran a video advertisement for Word of Hope that aired 120 times on Fox 2 News and Channel 11 and was shown on the news station’s website 40,000 times over four weeks starting April 4, 2022. We also placed a billboard for Word of Hope on April 7th, 2022 for 4 weeks at a location that is seen entering Illinois from Missouri. Our chapter has been putting
up billboards for 6 years.

You can watch the commercial here on our website and see the billboard we are putting up.

We are praising the Lord and thanking him for 21 more states like Missouri that are trying to eliminate or are putting great limits on abortion. However, this means women are flocking to Illinois. Possibly 10 million women will cross the borders and into Illinois to the baby killing factories.

In the legislature of Illinois, in the House they have bills pending that will make the abortion pill available by vending machine on the college campuses and schools. They also are trying to pass bills that would limit what the pregnancy care centers can do to help the women that actually want to keep their babies.

God is moving in profound ways right now to be a light in the darkness. The Supreme court is hearing the Dobbs vs Jackson case in Mississippi that could overturn the federal law of abortion and return it to the states.

Our mission is working to reach people with his message of Christ’s redemptive work and salvation that only comes through him. It is our message of Life through Jesus Christ, the author and preserver of Life that we proclaim to a lost and fallen world.

Our chapter annually puts up the billboard during Lent with the Word of Hope message. This year we are including the commercials to reach out even further to save lives.  We are hoping to keep both up and running longer than the 4 weeks that we have already paid for.

We are asking that you would join us in our efforts with your prayers.  There are so many hurting people that we can help with Jesus’ message of Life.

If it is on your heart to donate or share this message with your congregations and friends, please prayerfully do so. We also have baby bottles to bring to your congregation or group if that is a way to share our message with your people. Just contact us and we will make sure to get them to you.

Please bear in mind also, that our message of hope is not only for people who are struggling with abortion issues.  But also, those who have suffered with feelings of worthlessness, disability, sickness, aging, abuse, marital problems, family problems, suicide, etc. All aspects of life.

Lutherans For Life Philosophy

Lutherans For Life believes that the Church is compelled by God’s Word to speak and act on behalf of those who are vulnerable and defenseless. The crisis of our times is the repudiation of biblical truth manifested in the wanton destruction of innocent human life through legalized abortion-on-demand and the growing threat to the lives of others through legalized assisted suicide and euthanasia. Therefore, as Lutherans For Life, we will strive to give a Gospel-motivated witness to the Church and society on these and other related issues, such as chastity, post-abortion healing, and family living. We will call God’s people to compassionate action and foster life-affirming alternatives for those facing difficult situations.

The message of Lutherans For Life is the heart-changing truth of the
Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our primary message is not so much:

“Here’s what we should do.”

Rather it is:

“Here is what God has done that gives value and dignity to all human life.”

Pro-life organization St. Charles, MO

“Abortion offers the Church a tragic new mission field and, therefore, an occasion to offer the Good News of Jesus Christ to those struggling to cope with a problem pregnancy.

“If the Church doesn’t recognize that we have Good News for these women, who do we have Good News for?  And what is the Good News for?  And what good is the Good News then?”

Dr. Jean Garton

co-founder and president emeritus of Lutherans For Life
